Yamil Asad's wonder strike to open Audi Field on July 14 was voted as MLS' AT&T Goal of the Week for Week 20 of the 2018 season. The goal was the Black-and-Red's first ever at their brand new home at Audi Field.
Asad made history In the 27th minute of the match, when a blocked cross from Oniel Fisher bounced its way to Zoltán Stieber, who quickly found the Argentine waiting near the top of the box, just outside the half circle. Asad quickly collected the ball and fired a beautiful curling strike from distance that flew past Vancouver goalkeeper Brian Rowe and into the upper-right corner to christen Audi Field with a 1-0 lead.
The goal was Asad's eighth of the season, which ties him with Darren Mattocks for the team lead, it was also the second time this season that Asad has won Goal of the Week as a member of the Black-and-Red.
