Sporting Kansas City have selected goalkeeper Andrew Dykstra in Stage 2 of the 2016 Re-Entry Draft.

Dykstra, 30, made one start for United in 2016 before suffering a back injury. He made 14 appearances for the Black-and-Red in five seasons.

After Dykstra signed with D.C. United on Feb. 27, 2012, he enjoyed success in USL Pro and the USL. He played for USL Pro side Charleston Battery on loan in 2012, where he led the team to the league title that season.  He spent the 2013 season on loan with the Richmond Kickers, earning USL Goalkeeper of the Year honors after posting the lowest Goals Against Average in the league.

Prior to signing with D.C. United, Dykstra played for the Chicago Fire in 2009 and 2010, starting 17 matches in 2010.  The six-foot-four goalkeeper has 30 career MLS starts and 101 saves, as well as 54 starts in USL and USL Pro.
