March 4, 2017; 7 PM | Final Home Opener at RFK | Sporting KC

Two of the league's founding members kick off the season in the nation's capital.  The Black-and-Red have a home-opener record of 9-6-6 at RFK Stadium and are playing SKC for the fifth time at home to start a season (2-2).  Between United States Men's National Team players Steve Birnbaum, Matt Besler and Graham Zusi, as well as Taylor Kemp (who recently returned from his first USMNT January camp) and Bill Hamid (two caps), both defenses bring loads of experience.  On the attacking end, Dom Dwyer and Benny Feilhaber will look to create more chances than Luciano Acosta and Patrick Mullins, a blossoming relationship that United fans can get excited about.

June 3, 2017; 7 PM | LA Galaxy

In another historic matchup, United host the LA Galaxy in early June in the first match between the two sides at RFK since 2015.  With Steven Gerrard and Robbie Keane gone, Los Angeles will look to their younger regime of Sebastian Lletget, Giovani Dos Santos and Romain Alessandrini to break down the Black-and-Red defense with new acquisition Jermaine Jones pulling the strings.  Sean Franklin, who spent six years with the Galaxy, will look to exact revenge after the first match of the season last year.
