United forward Patrick Mullins has had quite a week.  After being named to the MLS Team of the Week and being nominated for Player of the Month, the 24-year-old Louisiana native has been named Player of the Week following his impressive performance against the Chicago Fire on August 27.  Mullins scored his first professional hat trick, scoring the second, third and fifth goals of the night in United's 6-2 victory over the Fire.

Match Highlights

The team's leading scorer, Mullins is averaging a goal or an assist every 75 minutes for United since being acquired from New York City FC on July 20.  The six-foot-one forward has injected some much-needed offense to D.C.'s lineup, helping the Black-and-Red score multiple goals four times in seven matches.  Before his arrival, United had only scored multiple goals four times over the first 19 matches.

The Black-and-Red are now unbeaten in their last six matches and hold a slim lead over Orlando City SC for the sixth and final postseason spot in the Eastern Conference.  Mullins and the rest of United travel to Yankee Stadium to face his former team on Thursday, September 1.
