On a gloomy day in the D.C. Area, United business as usual. The team got in a good workout today despite the weather, and the U.S. Open Cup victory celebration continues tonight. With the Phialdelphia Union headed down I-95 tomorrow, the Black-and-Red are focused and up for the challenege.
The rain can’t hold D.C. United back
Despite a rain-soaked D.C., the Black-and-Red did not lose a day of work. D.C. United headed indoors for a cardio session, splitting up between the treadmills and the resistance bikes. After a hard workout, some treatment and media, DCU is ready for one final day of preparation before facing I-95 rivals Philadelphia on Saturday at RFK.
D.C. United to host Noche Latina
This Saturday, D.C. United will host Noche Latina, presented by AT&T, Parts Authority, Shoppers and Volkswagen, at RFK Stadium as part of Hispanic Heritage Month. The festivities will begin at 4:30 in Lot 8 before the Black-and-Red take on the Philadelphia Union.
The event is free and open to the public and will feature musical performances by Orphan Eyes and Jicky Joe as well as a performance by Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Tonight, the U.S. Open Cup Trophy will be at the Verizon Center while the Washington Capitals take on the Carolina Hurricanes. The trophy will arrive at 6 p.m. outside of section 108, where Perry Kitchen and Chris Korb will be signing autographs from 6-6:45p.m. Tomorrow, D.C. United staff will have the trophy at Lucky Bar from 6:30-8:30 p.m. during the U.S. Men’s National Team World Cup Qualifier vs. Jamaica.
