Ben's Chili Bowl opened 55 years ago today. A family run business, Ben's celebrated this milestone with its extended family-- the D.C. community. And there to lead the ceremony was one of their most loyal costumers, Bill Cosby, who Chris Pontius presented with his very own D.C. United jersey.
Jesse Jackson was also in attendance and spoke of his love for Ben's Chili Bowl at the beginning of the celebration.
Before the ceremony kicked off, Pontius spoke with reporters about how important Ben's is to Washington, D.C.
Pontius also met some young fans of both D.C. United and Ben's Chili Bowl.
