Luis Silva gained more confidence as the match went on at Toyota Park. The talented and clever attacker was getting himself into gaps and taking on Fire defenders. Then, in the 58th minute, Silva found the back of the net. After receiving a pass from Perry Kitchen, Silva bent a beautiful, long-range shot into the upper right hand corner, leaving Tornaghi with no chance.
After the match, Silva recalled the goal.
“I was asking for the ball and Perry saw me in a good hole, right in the middle. I knew I had time and space, so why not try it. I decided to take the shot, and it went in.”
