For the first time since the announcement of a partnership between Jason Levien, Erick Thohir and Will Chang as owners of D.C. United, the three were in town over the weekend for a whirlwind tour surrounding United's 1-0 victory over Chivas USA Sunday night. Among the agenda items during the visit was an opportunity to become actively involved in the community programming for which D.C. United is synonymous.
That opportunity came in the form of a United Builds appearance at So Others Might Eat. The group joined President and CEO Kevin Payne, a host of front office employees and star midfielder Chris Pontius in serving food to those in attendance at the shelter on O Street, NW.
"D.C. United is such a bg part of the community and for us - as new owners - to exprience that and to participate, it's really rewarding," Levien said. "It makes us feel great about being a part [of the club]."

The three previously participated in a season ticket holder meet and greet before Sunday's match, sharing their insights and vision with those in attendance, while hearing thoughts and concerns from some of the club's most ardent and long-term fans. With an eye on boosting the season ticket base for the years ahead, the event was the first in a series of scheduled opportunities available to those who commit to 2013 season ticket plans.
Following a huge three points on Sunday night, the ownership group was all smiles alongside the players for the club's annual team photo Monday morning. Fans can look forward to the collectors item as a pre-game giveaway on October 20, when United closes their 2012 home regular season schedule with the Columbus Crew. Kick-off for the match is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Buy tickets
