D.C. United announced todaythat the club will offer two Winter Camps in Glenn Dale, Md. and Manassas, Va.focusing on technical and tactical development. The camps will run fromDecember 2011 to March 2012 and will consist of twelve 90-minute sessions.
Eachtraining session will be a single progression within a full, twelve-week SoccerSeries; emphasizing a precise balance between individual technique, individual& group tactics, soccer fitness/soccer aerobics and free play. Eachsession will conclude with live competition, and each camper will be placedinto a team for small-sided matches. Campers will learn about teamwork,communication and leadership throughout the twelve-week Winter Camp Series.
With venues in Glenn Dale andManassas, the D.C. United Winter Camp Series will be open to ages 6-16. Theprice for tuition is $500.
D.C.United’s innovative training program is an age appropriate training method ledby top D.C. United instructors. The twelve-week Camp Series has beenstrategically designed to maximize each individual athlete's technicalproficiency and tactical understanding of the game while emphasizing a fun andcompetitive environment.
