United in the media ahead of Dynamo match

In the Washington Post, Steve Goff spoke with Assistant Coach/goalkeeper Pat Onstad about his impending return to full-time coaching. Craig Stouffer writes in the Washington Examiner that United is still working out the kinks in the back line. In the Washington Times this morning, Thomas Floyd states the team's offense is poised for huge imporvements over last year, but it will be the defensive corps that needs to step-up if United are to make a playoff push.


Russ Thaler and Sebastian Salazar provide their always-insightful commentary and analysis via the Black-and-Red Report, while Chris Pontius previews Houston.


Travis Clark updates us on Jed Zayner's return from a early-season hamstring strain, the team's improved offensive output, and also spoke to Onstad about his return to Houston, where he spent five years and won two MLS Cups.


The media in Houston are also keenly focuesed on tonight's battle. The week began with Glenn Davis of Sports Talk 790 interviewing both Charlie Davies and Pat Onstad, and in the Houston Chronicle, Jose De Jesus Ortiz also centers on the signifigance of Onstad's return to Houston.


Finally, the update from Houston last night is that Branko Boskovic and Kurt Morsink did not make the trip last night, while Jed Zayner and Steve Cronin are with the team.
