We'll soon officially announce that we've acquired Australian forward Danny Allsopp. The 31-year old has an impressive resume, having played at the highest level for Manchester City in England. He most recently played with Qatar's Al-Rayyan and previously spent 4+ seasons with Australia's Melbourne Victory, where he won a scoring title (2006-07) and helped the team to two Grand Final championships.
Here's what Danny had to say about joining United:
"I'm delighted to be joining such a successful club as D.C. United. Their history speaks for itself and I’m really excited about the move. Playing in MLS is a challenge and I am really looking forward to it. I’m hoping to make a real impact to help carry on the club’s great tradition."
He'll join United for the start of pre-season and will officially be available upon receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and Visa.
