D.C. United (7-3-4, 24 points) travel to Gillette Stadium to take on the New England Revolution (3-3-8, 12 points) in an original six match up.


The last time these two sides matched up, D.C. United took the victory at Audi Field on Aug. 19, 2018. Unitedā€™s Paul Arriola weaved his way to the goal line on the right wing and played a ball across to the back post for Luciano Acosta. Acosta smashed the ball, first time, into the top left corner for the early lead. In the 89th minute, Junior Moreno lobbed one over the top to Zoltan Stieber and the Hungarian finished off the play with a curled effort inside the box for the 2-0 lead.

United are fresh off a deflating 2-1 loss to the Houston Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium in their last MLS regular season match. Wayne Rooney notched his seventh goal of the 2019 season in the early stages of the second half but United let in two goals midway through the second half.


The Black-and-Red will be optimistic about their upcoming road trip as the Revs are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference and have won just one in their last five MLS matchups. The Revs have recently hired Bruce Arena as Technical Director and he has also been named Head Coach of the New England team.

The Revs are the fourth-lowest scoring team in MLS this season - 14 goals scored through 14 games. New England is also the highest scored upon team in MLS this season - they have allowed 31 goals against thus far in 2019.


The Black-and-Redā€™s Wayne Rooney has seven goals on the season and will look to continue his scoring ways against the Revs tonight. United will have all eyes on Carles Gill, the top scorer from New England - Gill has 4 goals this season. New England will look to get their midfield man involved going forwards tonight.
