Head Coach Ben Olsen

Overall thoughts on the match...
"It was great. I thought it was a really even game and it was good to push our guys’ fitness. You could see they got tired in the second half but having them go through that is a good thing. It was great to see [Kevin] Ellis out there because this was the first time we got a good look at him since he's been with us. It was also good to continue getting Jalen [Robinson] minutes, Jared [Jeffrey] is a professional who can fill in and he's always done that for us. I thought Travis [Worra] had a pretty good night. Bruno [Miranda] was eventful, [Chris] Durkin grew into the game, [Ian] Harkes showed some promise and Dane [Kelly] scored a goal. There were a lot of positives out of the game. Given the number of adjustments we made, we found a way to get something out of it."

On the strength of Olimpia and their supporters...
"It was great support, and they're a good team. There's a lot of professional and World Cup experience on that team, and I think they went about it in a real way which helped a lot of our players prepare for what's to come in the next two months of the season. If they're called on, this game will help them get ready for real minutes in MLS because of the way Olimpia went about it and because of the physicality they brought tonight. It was a perfect game for a lot of those guys."

Forward Dane Kelly
On his first goal for D.C. United...

“It feels good. I saw Kevin (Ellis) pick up the ball and I knew he was going to look for me. I made the run in behind and I got the one-time finish. It was a great goal for me.”

On what he hopes to provide for United moving forward...

“I need to make more runs in behind and that’s what I will be working on. I think by doing that I can go forward and do well for the team.”
