Head Coach Ben Olsen

On the result…
"I’m disappointed with our first half performance. They [New York Red Bulls] overran us with their physicality and were first to everything for a large portion of the first half. We were on our heels and lacked aggression in stepping to the ball. With the backline, we weren’t combative enough. The second half was pretty good and I think we would’ve given ourselves a much better chance if we played like that in the first. There were plenty of chances to tie or win the game, but if you don’t start in the right way and it’s not your night on the finishing front, you lose the game."

On getting shutout at home…
"That hasn’t been our issue for most of this season. We have been efficient with our chances and created plenty of looks on goal… that is the most important thing. Building off the second half can be a positive, but only if we learn from the first half and learn how to get out of our comfort zone and have a tougher mentality. We were unfortunate to not at least get a point out of tonight."

On rotation for Saturdays game…
"We will evaluate the team tomorrow and there might be some fresh bodies on Saturday… it’s a quick turn-around. It was good to see Russell [Canouse] get some minutes in there today. He looked like he won more tackles in that second half than our whole team combined in the first. That’s a little bit of what we need right now. Ulises [Segura] got back in the game and showed some life. It’s nice to have a healthy squad and have some options during a tough stretch like this."

Wayne Rooney

On the game…
“We didn’t take our chances and it cost us the game. We created a lot more opportunities in the second half. On another day, we might take them and win or at least a draw, but unfortunately we didn’t.”

On BWP scoring 100...
“Bradley is a great goal-scorer. He took his chance early. Congratulations to him on 100.”

On the no-call foul…
“I didn’t see much but I felt it. I think it was a clear foul but sometimes those decisions are difficult for referees.”

On moving forward…
“We have to go again and try to win. There were some positives tonight, but we have to rest and be ready for Saturday’s match.”

Chris Durkin

On falling behind early…
“We didn’t come out ready enough. It’s a rivalry and we have to come out faster. We got it together after 15 minutes, but we’re gonna learn from it and bounce back.”

On missed chances...
“We got in behind a couple times and had some chances to get one. Sometimes you just have those nights where you can’t put one in the back of the net. I thought we deserved a goal for sure.”

Paul Arriola

On the match...
“When you’re down a goal you really have nothing to lose. We were a little more free going forward and moving around. Russell came in and did a great job. Red Bull take zero chances in the back, they just clear it. Good news is we play them away, so we’ll be ready for them. But now it’s time to turn to Colorado on Saturday.
