Homegrown Chris Durkin has been named to his first career MLS Team of the Week thanks to his strong performance in United's 3-1 win at San Jose on Saturday. Midfielder Luciano Acosta was also named to the Team of the Week bench.

Durkin was a force in the midfield against the Quakes, setting new career highs in successful passes (53) and duels won (8), and tying his best for tackles (3). The 18-year-old sent a number of perfectly-placed balls forward to United's attackmen throughout the game, helping launch the counter and setting up his teammates in prime positioning.

Durkin's work rate also allowed him to continuously disrupt San Jose's midfielders. The young gun's relentless hustle helped clog up passing lanes and prevented the Quakes from finding easy space ahead on the dribble.

Acosta also logged an impressive performance, tallying two assists and picking up Man of the Match honors. The Argentine fed Zoltán Stieber and Darren Mattocks on the fixture's first and second goals, and made his presence felt throughout the night thanks to his passing accuracy in the final third.
