WASHINGTON (March 20, 2018) – D.C. United have announced a founding-level partnership with Heineken for the club’s new state-of-the-art home, Audi Field. As one of Audi Field’s key partners, Heineken will serve as the title sponsor for the stadium’s field-level Heineken Club, rooftop bar and additional fan initiatives.

“We are proud to partner with Heineken, another powerful brand that shares our commitment to building the sport in the District, as we begin a new era for D.C. United at Audi Field,” Mike Schoenbrun, United Chief Revenue Officer, said. “Black-and-Red supporters are among the best in Major League Soccer, and we are dedicated to raising the bar for fan experience at Audi Field with the help of Heineken.”

“Heineken has been championing the beautiful game around the world for decades, and our partnership with D.C. United is all about bringing that same passion and energy to fans right here in Washington,” said Bjorn Trowery, director of external communications at HEINEKEN USA. “D.C. United are a top-level club, and one of the most successful in North America, and we can’t wait to raise an ice cold Heineken to future trophies and successes as part of our new partnership.”

The five-year partnership is focused on creating one-of-a-kind experiences for United fans, whether the team is at home at Audi Field or on the road. Among these experiences is Heineken’s “Open Your World” sweepstakes, which will provide one lucky Black-and-Red fan the opportunity to take a paid trip to the United Kingdom for a Swansea City A.F.C. match.

Fans will also have a chance to win an expenses-paid trip to travel to a select D.C. United away match.

In-venue, Heineken will help elevate the matchday experience for Black-and-Red fans. When United officially open their new home on July 14, field seat ticket members can take in the game action at the field-level Heineken Club, while all United fans can enjoy the brand new Heineken rooftop bar. The field level Heineken club will put fans right next to the action on the pitch, while the rooftop bar will offer spectacular views of Audi Field and the D.C. skyline.

Heineken will also sponsor the second annual “Heineken Legends Cup,” a special recreational soccer tournament for weekend warriors featuring select D.C. United legends.
