WASHINGTON (December 20, 2017) —  United have begun discussions with Loudoun County to locate a new facility in Northern Virginia to host a training facility, team offices, our youth development program and a second division team, at Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park in Leesburg, Virginia. The D.C. United second division team would play in a new stadium located on the west side of Bolen Park.

“Securing a site for a permanent training facility and a second division team has been a top priority for the club,” said Dave Kasper, United general manager and VP of soccer operations. “We have been very pleased with the conversations we’ve had with Loudoun County officials to develop a site that will host a training facility, team offices, our youth development program and a second division professional team, and look forward to continuing those discussions. We believe that Loudoun County is an ideal location for these facilities and we will continue to work with county leaders to finalize an agreement.”

United are working closely with Loudoun County officials to negotiate the terms of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The county will provide land for the facilities and approximately $15 million in financing for construction of the fields, training facility and an approximately 5,000-seat stadium. Once the MOA is finalized, it will be presented to the Board of Supervisors during its regularly scheduled public hearing on January 10, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting is held at the Loudoun County Government Center (1 Harrison St., SE, Leesburg).
