After voting for D.C. United's Save of the Year on the club's Twitter and Facebook pages following the culmination of the 2017 season, fans have dubbed Bill Hamid's stop against Colorado at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on August 19 the Black-and-Red's best save of the season.

Hamid's stellar performance in the Mile High City included three world-class saves that helped United head home with a 1-0 victory and all three points. While Hamid put on a goalkeeping show, his acrobatic save against forward Shkëlzen Gashi was his most spectacular stop of the night. After a Colorado counterattack found Gashi and Nick DeLeon in a foot race, Hamid came through as United's last line of defense, going airborne and fully extending to his left to deflect Gashi's shot over the crossbar and keep the Rapids off the board.

Hamid's saves against Nemanja Nikolic in Chicago and Josef Martínez at RFK, and Steve Clark's saves against Bradley Wright-Phillips at Red Bull Arena and Gonzalo Verón at RFK, were also up for United's Save of the Year.
