D.C. United fell to the Seattle Sounders at CenturyLink Field 4-3 on Wednesday night. While the Black-and-Red attack came together to net three goals, the visitors were ultimately unable to hold off the home side.

United jumped out to an ideal start, scoring in the 8th minute to take the early lead. Deshorn Brown finished a Patrick Nyarko cross right in front of goal, giving Brown his second goal in as many matches.

Keeping the pressure on the Sounders' defense, United doubled their lead in the 27th minute off of an Ian Harkes score. The rookie gathered the ball in the box, took two smart touches, and sent a strike into the far corner. Harkes' goal was also his second in as many matches.

The Black-and-Red added a third goal, this time from Lloyd Sam, just minutes after halftime. Sam is now one of only 38 players to have scored at least 25 career goals and record 25 assists.

United now return to RFK Stadium for their first home match in more than a month. Ben Olsen's side hosts the Houston Dynamo on Saturday, July 22 at 7 PM ET. "We finally have a home game after this long road stretch and then six of our next eight games are at home," Olsen said. "If we take care of those we’ll be in good shape. We’ll build off of this.”
