On Feb. 27, United officially broke ground on the team's new home, Audi Field, scheduled to open in 2018. The ceremony was attended by MLS Commissioner Don Garber, Mayor Muriel Bowser, Audi of America president Scott Keogh, United managing partner Jason Levien and head coach Ben Olsen as well fans, players, staff, partners and D.C. officials.
