In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, D.C. United will host the second annual Partido de las Estrellas, a celebration that will take place on Saturday, October 8, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at the Bell/Lincoln soccer field located in Columbia Heights DC. The event, which will benefit Latino Victory Project, is presented by State Farm and part of D.C. United’s commitment to recognize the culture and contributions made by Hispanics and Latino Americans to their community.
The Partido de las Estrellas celebration will feature performances by local musical groups, a youth soccer clinic from noon to 12:45 PM and four friendly 7-v-7 soccer matches with teams made up of local celebrities, soccer stars, dignitaries, media members, and more. The free event is open to the public and will have fun soccer and cultural related activities for families and children to enjoy.
Current rosters include: former D.C. United players Jaime Moreno and Luciano Emilio, Latino recording artist Jason Cerda, NBC 4 News Anchor Erika Gonzalez, Univision News Anchor Tsi Tsi Ki Felix and more.
This year’s Partido de las Estrellas celebration will benefit Latino Victory Project, a non-profit that builds power in the Latino community so the voices and values of Latinos are reflected at every level of government, and in the policies that drive our country forward. D.C. United celebra el Mes de la Herencia Hispana con el segundo Partido de Estrellas presentado por State Farm
En honor al Mes de la Herencia Hispana, D.C. United será anfitrión del Segundo Partido de las Estrellas, una celebración que tomará lugar el sábado, 8 de octubre, de 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM en la cancha de Bell/Lincoln en Columbia Heights DC. El evento, cual beneficiará a Latino Victory Project, es parte del compromiso de D.C. United de reconocer la cultura y contribuciones hechas por hispanos y latinoamericanos en la comunidad.
La celebración contará con actuaciones musicales de grupos locales, una clínica de fútbol para niños de 12pm-12:45pm y cuatro partidos amistosos con equipos integrados por celebridades locales, estrellas de fútbol, autoridades, miembros de los medios de comunicación latinos y más. El evento será de libre acceso al público y ofrecerá mucha diversión de fútbol y actividades culturales para que las familias y la juventud disfruten.
