Chris Durkin named to USA U-17 roster for Torneo De Naciones

D.C. United's most recent Homegrown signing Chris Durkin has been named to the U.S. Under-17 roster to compete in the 2016 Torneo de Naciones, set to take place Aug. 22-29, in Mexico City.


The 20-man roster (including seven MLS academy players) coached by John Hackworth face Portugal on Aug. 25, Qatar on Aug. 26, and conclude their tournament against the host country Mexico on Aug. 28.


The 16-year-old signed with United on June 14, 2016, after spending the last five years in the academy.  He made his competitive debut for the club on June 15, playing 86 minutes against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers of the NASL in United's Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match.
