History on United’s Side
D.C. United are unbeaten against the Impact in their last five matches (winning three times and drawing twice), including two victories against Montreal twice this season. Jairo Arrieta scored the game’s only goal in the season home-opener for the Black-and-Red back in March and Chris Rolfe’s 13th minute goal was United’s only shot in the game on Aug. 8.  The goal was Rolfe’s fifth game-winning goal of the season, and it marked the first time in MLS history a team won while recording only one shot.  D.C. United hold the upper hand in the all-time record as well, winning five of the teams’ 10 matchups, losing twice and drawing three times since Montreal entered MLS in 2012.

The Drogba Show
Signing Didier Drogba has done wonders for Montreal, who are 3-0-2 since the former Chelsea legend started his first game for the club on Sept. 5.  The Ivorian burst on the scene in a big way, scoring a hat trick to lead the Impact over the Chicago Fire 4-3.  He has since scored two more times, and has been a major influence during their unbeaten month of September.

Wily Veterans
While the 37-year-old Drogba has seen his share of games, United have their own iron man in Bobby Boswell. The center back recently became fifth all-time in regular-season starts (317) and the Black-and-Red captain also leads all outfield players this season in minutes played (2615).   He will be tasked with stopping the powerful Drogba on Saturday night.

Familiar Faces to Return Next Season
Both Rolfe and defender Kofi Opare recently signed contract extensions with the club.  Rolfe reached 10 goals for the first time in his career when he scored against Columbus Crew SC on Sept. 19.  He leads the team this season and is now ninth among active players with 64 career goals.  Opare is the only United player to score a goal in three different competitions this year; he’s scored once in MLS play, once in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and has two goals in the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League.
