D.C. United has announced that the first match in the 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup will be available via livestream, presented by AT&T. United will begin the defense of its 2013 championship in the fourth round versus the USL PRO Rochester Rhinos at Sahlen’s Stadium in Rochester, N.Y. on Tuesday, June 17, at 7:05 p.m.
The stream, which will be available at dcunited.com/live, will feature live commentary provided by the Rhinos.
With a victory over the Rhinos, United will advance to a fifth round matchup at Maryland SoccerPlex against MLS side New England Revolution or the USL PRO Richmond Kickers.
D.C. United captured its third U.S. Open Cup title in 2013, the 100th edition of the competition, with a 1-0 defeat at Real Salt Lake. The club previously won the United States’ oldest cup tournament in 1996 and 2008.
