D.C. United releases 2014 Regular Season Schedule

D.C. United today announced its 2014 Major League Soccer regular season schedule. Winner of 13 major domestic and international titles, D.C. United begins its 19th regular season campaign on Saturday, March 8 against the Columbus Crew at RFK Stadium. United will play a 34-game schedule that includes 17 home games and 17 road matches, with 25 of those contests against Eastern Conference opposition.

United’s home schedule features compelling match-ups throughout the year which starts with four of its first six games against Eastern Conference opponents Columbus Crew, Chicago Fire, New England Revolution and New York Red Bulls. Western Conference side FC Dallas is the lone home match in April before three Eastern Conference meetings in the month of May against Montreal Impact, Houston Dynamo and Sporting Kansas City.


The club hosts Seattle Sounders FC in June while the Colorado Rapids and New York Red Bulls come to town in August, with the later being broadcast by League partner NBC Sports Network on Aug. 31. Philadelphia Union and Sporting Kansas City travel to Washington, D.C. back-to-back weekends, Sept. 17 and Oct. 3, respectively, with both games featuring on NBC Sports Network.

The Black-and-Red will be featured eleven times on national television, three of which include the New York Red Bulls, beginning with NBC Sports Network’s airing of the April 12 home fixture against the Atlantic Cup rival. Five of the last nine games for the club will air on national television with three on NBC Sports Network, one on ESPN2, and one on UNIMAS. Additional regional television plans will be announced at a later date.
