Kyle Porter - Goal Celebration vs Crew

D.C. United midfielder and Major League Soccer rookie Kyle Porter scored his first MLS career goal tonight against Sporting Kansas City in front of the Black-and-Red’s home crowd. After going down 1-0 from an own goal off a corner kick, United battled back, finding an offensive spark from the likes of Nick DeLeon, Chris Pontius, and the game’s spotlight Kyle Porter.

The equalizer came when DeLeon battled Sporting center back Ike Opara on the Kansas City end line. DeLeon, keeping his composure, turned away from the pressure and found the feet of a supporting Pontius. Pontius quickly opened up across his body and whipped in a right-footed cross, finding a sliding Kyle Porter who finished low, into the far corner of the net.

The young midfielder’s tally not only equalized the match, but snapped a seven game losing streak, earning the Black-and-Red one point at home. But that’s not all—Porter’s family visited this week from Toronto and they were all in attendance to see his first career goal.
