& Jon Busch
San Jose goalkeeper Jon Busch spent part of the 1999 season with D.C. United, but did not participate before landing with the Tampa Bay Mutiny. That year, Busch played for the Hampton Roads Mariners of the USL A-League, helping them finish sixth in the Atlantic division.
Dwayne De Rosario
& Nana Attakora
Nana Attakora and Dwayne De Rosario were teammates at Toronto FC from 2009 to the start of the 2011 MLS season. In that time, Attakora featured in 46 games (44 starts), tallied three goals and added four assists. De Rosario played in 57 games (51 starts), tallied 27 goals and added 10 assists. Attakora and De Rosario (along with teammates Dejan Jakovic and Kyle Porter) have all been called up to the Canada Men’s National Team in their respective careers. Most recently, the Canadians all featured together in the scoreless friendly against the U.S. Men’s National Team on 1/30 at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas.
& Mehdi Ballouchy
Dwayne De Rosario spent part of the 2011 MLS season with Mehdi Ballouchy at the New York Red Bulls after the Canadian was traded from Toronto on 4/1/11, later joining D.C. United on 6/27/11. In that period, De Rosario played 13 games (12 starts) and scored two goals. Ballouchy played the full season for the Red Bulls, featuring in 29 games (17 starts), scoring two goals and adding one assist.
& Sam Cronin
Dwayne De Rosario and Sam Cronin spent two seasons together on the roster of Toronto FC from 2009-2010, Cronin being the third overall pick (Wake Forest) in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft. In those two years, De Rosario played 55 games (51 starts), scored 26 goals and notched nine assists. Cronin made 33 appearances (30 starts), scored once and added five assists while at Toronto.
& Dan Gargan
Dwayne De Rosario and Dan Gargan were teammates at Toronto FC for two seasons from 2010-2011 before both were traded to New York on 4/1/11 and Chicago on 7/28/11, respectively. In their time together on the TFC roster, De Rosario made 29 appearances (26 starts), scored 16 goals and added four assists. Gargan featured 43 times (37 starts), scored once and notched four assists.

Dwayne De Rosario and Alan Gordon spent part of the 2011 season together on Toronto FC’s roster before De Rosario was traded to the New York Red Bulls on 4/1/11. During the time they were teammates, De Rosario started both the games he played for Toronto that year, scoring once and adding an assist. Gordon made eight appearances (seven starts), scored four goals and added one assist.

Dwayne De Rosario and Ty Harden spent the whole of the 2010 season and part of the 2011 season together at Toronto FC before De Rosario was traded to New York on 4/1/11. In that period, De Rosario made 29 appearances (26 starts), scored 16 goals and tallied four assists, while Harden played in 38 games (34 starts).
& Chris Wondolowski
Dwayne De Rosario and Chris Wondolowski spent three seasons together with the Houston Dynamo from 2006-2008 in the club’s debut season in MLS after the San Jose Earthquakes were relocated in 2005. In those three years with the Dynamo, De Rosario played 78 times (73 starts), scored 24 goals and notched 11 assists. In the same period, Wondolowski made 30 appearances (eight starts), scored twice and added an assist. Both players were a part of the back-to-back, 2006 and 2007 MLS Cup-winning Houston Dynamo teams.

Dwayne De Rosario got his start in MLS with the San Jose Earthquakes in 2001 after spending time with D.C. United’s recently negotiated affiliate the Richmond Kickers (of the then- A-League) from 1999-00. From 2001-05, De Rosario featured in 108 games (73 starts), tallied 27 goals and added 31 assists for the Quakes. De Rosario and San Jose claimed two MLS Cups in both 2001 and 2003.

Sam Garza’s (and D.C. United goalkeeper Joe Willis’) University of Denver Pioneers and Nick DeLeon’s University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV) Rebels met on two occasions in 2008. In the first match on 10/5/08, Garza, Willis and the Pioneers downed DeLeon’s Rebels 1-0. On 11/14/08, Garza would tally and assist in a 3-1 victory over DeLeon and UNLV once again. All players started both games. Ironically, both players started their careers at different universities and transferred between the 2009 and 2010 season.

Nana Attakora and Dejan Jakovic (along with teammates Dwayne De Rosario and Kyle Porter) have all been called up to the Canada Men’s National Team in their respective careers. Most recently, the Canadians all featured together, Attakora starting alongside Jakovic in Canada’s central defense, in the scoreless friendly against the U.S. Men’s National Team on 1/30 at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Justin Morrow and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish played Dejan Jakovic and the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB) Blazers on 8/25/06. Jakovic’s UAB beat No. 10 Notre Dame 1-0-- Jakovic started the match while Morrow came on as substitute.
& Brad Ring
Brad Ring’s Indiana Hoosiers and Dejan Jakovic’s UAB Blazers met on two occasions between 2006-07. In the first match on 8/27/06, Ring and the Hoosiers edged Jakovic’s Blazers 2-1. A year later on 9/21/07, Jakovic would prove the difference in the rematch, tallying a brace against Ring’s Hoosiers in a 2-1 victory. Both players were starting defenders for their teams in the matchups.

David Bingham’s California (Cal) Golden Bears and Taylor Kemp’s (and teammates Casey Townsend and Ethan White’s) Maryland Terrapins met on 09/06/09. Kemp, Townsend, White and the Terrapins handed David Bingham’s Cal side a 2-1 loss. All players started the match.
& Tommy Muller
Tommy Muller’s Georgetown Hoyas and Taylor Kemp’s (along with teammate Ethan White’s [2009]) Maryland Terrapins met twice from 2008-12. The two first met on 10/13/09, seeing Kemp, White and the Terps top Muller’s Hoyas 2-1 in the match. In the 2012 College Cup Semifinal on 12/7/12, Kemp and Muller met again in an eight-goal thriller, seeing Maryland and Georgetown draw 4-4 at the end of regulation. Kemp’s Terrapins would eventually fall in penalty kicks, ending the match 4-4 (4-3) in favor of the Hoyas.
Perry Kitchen

Perry Kitchen’s (and teammate Chris Korb’s) Akron Zips met David Bingham’s California (Cal) Golden Bears in the quarterfinals of the 2010 College Cup on 12/04/10. Akron was victorious 3-3 (3-2 penalties), with Kitchen adding a goal en route to winning the 2010 National Championship.

Chris Korb’s (and teammate Perry Kitchen’s) Akron Zips met David Bingham’s California (Cal) Golden Bears in the quarterfinals of the 2010 College Cup on 12/04/10. Akron was victorious 3-3 (3-2 penalties) over Cal en route to winning the 2010 National Championship.

Justin Morrow’s Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Chris Korb’s Akron Zips met on 8/29/08. Korb and the Zips blanked Morrow’s Fighting Irish, winning 3-0. Both Morrow and Korb started the game.

Brad Ring’s Indiana Hoosiers and Chris Korb’s Akron Zips met on two occasions from 2008-09. The first match on 8/31/08 ended in a 0-0 draw. The second match on 9/18/09, Korb and the Zips edged Ring’s Indiana Hoosiers 1-0 later in the game. Both players started in defense for their teams in the matchups.

& Rafael Baca
Rafael Baca’s Loyola Marymount University (LMU) Lions and Brandon McDonald’s University of San Francisco (USF) Dons met twice in 2007. Both matches saw McDonald and the USF Dons top Baca’s LMU Lions. The first game on 10/19/07 ended 2-1 and the second game on 11/16/07 ended 4-0, with McDonald tallying a strike in the four-goal rout.
& Alan Gordon
Brandon McDonald spent one season alongside Alan Gordon at the Los Angeles Galaxy in 2008, his first in MLS season after being drafted in the fourth round (46th overall) in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft out of the University of San Francisco. In his lone year in Los Angeles, McDonald played 16 times (10 starts), scored once and added an assist. That same season, Gordon played 26 games (14 starts), scored five goals and notched seven assists.
& San Jose Earthquakes
Brandon McDonald played three seasons with the San Jose Earthquakes from 2009-11 after being traded from the Los Angeles Galaxy on 3/20/09. D.C. United acquired the defender midseason on 6/27/11. In that time, McDonald played in 58 games (54 starts), tallied three goals and added three assists.
Chris Pontius

Rafael Baca’s Loyola Marymount University (LMU) Lions and Chris Pontius’ University of California-Santa Barbara (UCSB) Gauchos met on 9/7/08. Baca and LMU would take the lead, however, Pontius would nab the equalizing goal and also assist the game-winner in a 3-1 victory for the Gauchos.
& Steven Beitashour
Steven Beitashour’s San Diego State (SDS) Aztecs and Chris Pontius’ UCSB Gauchos met twice in 2006. Pontius and the UCSB Gauchos topped Beitashour’s SDS Aztecs on both occasions, getting a 1-0 win on 9/2/06 and a 2-1 win on 11/11/06. Pontius started both games while Beitashour subbed on in the first and started the second.

Sam Cronin’s (and teammate Marcus Tracey’s) Wake Forest Demon Deacons and Chris Pontius’ UCSB Gauchos met on two separate occasions while both players were at their respective schools. In the first match on 12/3/06 – the semifinals of the 2006 College Cup – Pontius and the Gauchos would go on to win 0-0 (4-3 penalties) en route to claiming the 2006 National Championship. On 9/21/08, Cronin, Tracey and the Demon Deacons handed Pontius’ Gauchos a 6-2 loss in an eight-goal thriller. Cronin tallied once (assisted by Tracey) and Tracey notched a goal and assisted two others, while Pontius would grab a consolation goal late in the match. All players started the game.

Michael Fucito’s Harvard Crimson and Chris Pontius’ UCSB Gauchos faced off on 9/23/07. The Crimson would take the lead before Pontius quickly netted the equalizer, with the match ending in a 1-1 draw after overtime. Both players started the game.

Evan Newton’s Old Dominion Monarchs and Chris Pontius’ UCSB Gauchos met on 11/18/06. Pontius and the Gauchos downed Newton’s Monarchs 2-1 in the first round of the 2006 College Cup en route to claiming the National Championship that year. Both players started the game.

James Riley and Mike Fucito spent three seasons together with Seattle Sounders FC between 2009-2011, although Fucito was unable to make any regular season appearances for the club in his first season due to a foot injury. In those three years, Riley made 84 appearances (83 starts), scored once and added nine assists. Fucito played 23 games (13 starts), scored three goals and notched two assists.

James Riley spent the 2008 MLS season playing for the San Jose Earthquakes. In his lone year with the California side, Riley featured in 24 games (23 starts) and added two assists for the Quakes before being drafted eighth overall by Seattle Sounders FC in the 2008 MLS Expansion Draft.

Alain Rochat and Shea Salinas spent the 2011 season on the Vancouver Whitecaps FC roster in Rochat’s first season in MLS. That year, Rochat made 28 appearances (27 starts), scored three times and added an assist. Salinas played 26 games (18 starts), scored once and notched three assists.
Carlos Ruiz

Carlos Ruiz and Alan Gordon had two spells together as teammates with the Los Angeles Galaxy, once in 2004 before Ruiz was traded to FC Dallas and then again in 2008 before he was traded to Toronto on 8/19/08. In 2004, Ruiz played 20 times (18 starts), scored 11 goals and added two assists; in 2008 he made 10 appearances (three starts) and scored once. Meanwhile, Gordon made three appearances (two starts) in 2004 and then played 26 times (14 starts), scored five and notched seven assists in 2008.
