D.C. United


& Chris Albright
Chris Albright played with D.C. United from 1999-2001, featuring in 56 games (39 starts). The defender notched four goals and two assists in three seasons with the Black-and-Red. Albright was a teammate of United Head Coach Ben Olsen at the University of Virginia (1997), as well as during his three-year stint with United.


& Brian Carroll
Brian Carroll played with D.C. United from 2003-2007, featuring in 121 games (106 starts) for the Black-and-Red. The midfielder notched two goals and 11 assists in five seasons with United. Carroll was a teammate of United Head Coach Ben Olsen during his five seasons at United, together helping the team win the 2004 MLS Cup, D.C. United’s fourth League championship.

Michael Farfan’s North Carolina Tar Heels and Perry Kitchen’s (and United teammate Chris Korb’s) University of Akron Zips squared off on 9/3/10, with Akron nabbing a 3-0 win in both players’ lone season with their respective universities. Kitchen would tally the second goal on a headed free kick, while teammate Chris Korb assisted the third of the Zips’ three goals.

Perry Kitchen (along with United teammate Bill Hamid) was called up to the U.S. U-23 National Team for 2012 Olympic qualifying, featuring alongside Philadelphia Union call-up Sheanon Williams (and Amobi Okugo).

Perry Kitchen (along with United teammate Bill Hamid) was called up to the U.S. U-23 National Team for 2012 Olympic Qualifying, featuring alongside Philadelphia Union call-up Amobi Okugo (and Sheanon Williams). Caleb Porter, Kitchen’s coach at Akron, led the team and now is at the helm of the Portland Timbers.

Michael Farfan’s North Carolina Tar Heels and Chris Korb’s (and United teammate Perry Kitchen’s) University of Akron Zips squared off on 9/3/10, with Akron nabbing a 3-0 win. Korb assisted on the third of the three Akron goals, while Kitchen scored the second on a free kick header.


& Greg Jordan
Greg Jordan’s Creighton Bluejays and Korb’s (and United teammate Perry Kitchen’s) University of Akron Zips faced off on 10/27/10, seeing Akron grab a 1-0 win. Jordan, Korb and Kitchen all started the match.


Lionard Pajoy


& Philadelphia Union
Lionard Pajoy joined the Philadelphia Union to start the 2012 season, scoring five goals and two assists in 20 matches (16 starts) with the Union. Pajoy was traded to D.C. United for Daniel Cruz, and an international roster spot, on 8/16/12. After joining the Black-and-Red, Pajoy started and played in 12 matches, netting three goals and an assist in that time, helping the team reach the MLS Playoffs for the first time in seven years.


Chris Pontius


& Gabriel and Michael Farfan
Twin brothers Gabriel and Michael Farfan’s California State – Fullerton Titans and Chris Pontius’ University of California – Santa Barbara (UCSB) Gauchos met four times while all players were at their respective universities, with Pontius’ UCSB Gauchos victorious on all four occasions. Pontius would score a game-winner in a 1-0 victory for UCSB in the last match between the schools while all players were in attendance on 10/6/07.


& Michael Lahoud
Michael Lahoud’s Wake Forest Demon Deacons and Chris Pontius’ UCSB Gauchos squared of on 9/21/08, seeing a No. 1-ranked Wake Forest team thrash the 16th-ranked Gauchos 6-2. Pontius would tally from a free kick from the top of the 18-yard box.


James Riley


& Brian Carroll
Brian Carroll and James Riley were teammates at Wake Forest from 2001-03, Riley played in 42 games – scoring three goals and adding 12 assists – helping Carroll and the Demon Deacons culminate a 43-13-6 record in the three years the players attended Wake Forest together.


& Sebastien Le Toux
Sebastien Le Toux and James Riley were teammates at the Seattle Sounders in 2009 – the clubs inaugural year in MLS – both players featuring in 28 games on the season. The Sounders finished with a 12-7-11 record that year.

Chris Albright and Carlos Ruiz were teammates at the LA Galaxy from 2002-04, with both players featuring regularly for the club in that span, Albright recorded 66 games played (54 starts) to Ruiz’s 72 games played (69 starts) in the three years together at the club. Albright and Ruiz played pivotal roles in the 2002 MLS Cup-winning Galaxy squad. Ruiz scored an incredible 24 goals on the year, his best scoring season in MLS to date.


& Philadelphia Union
Carlos Ruiz played with the Philadelphia Union in 2011, netting six goals in just 14 games (13 starts) with the club. Ruiz did not feature in MLS in 2012, but signed with D.C. United via the MLS allocation process in February of this year. Robbie Russell & Chris Albright


Robbie Russell


Chris Albright’s University of Virginia Cavaliers and Robbie Russell’s Duke Blue Devils met on three different occasions during the 1997 and 1998 seasons with their respective schools. Albright would tally and assist on 10/25/98 against Russell and the Blue Devils en route to a 3-2 win over the conference rivals.

Chris Albright and Marcelo Saragosa were teammates at the LA Galaxy from 2004-06, together helping the Galaxy capture the 2005 MLS Cup, the club’s second. Albright totaled 69 games-played (68 starts) to Saragosa’s 40 games- played (36 starts) in the three years together at the club.


& Michael Lahoud
Michael Lahoud and Marcelo Saragosa were teammates at Chivas USA from 2009-10, with Lahoud recording 39 games played (29 starts) to Saragosa’s 22 games played (16 starts) in the two years together at the club.

& José Kléberson
Jose Kléberson and Rafael were teammates for a short period of time with Brazilian side Bahia, as Kléberson had just joined the club from Flamengo (Brazil) in 2013 before D.C. United signed Rafael from Bahia on loan as a Young Designated Player on 1/9/13. Subsequently, Kléberson would later be loaned to Philadelphia in exchange for Freddy Adu, sending the former D.C. United player to Bahia on 3/25/13.


Ethan White


& Matt Kassel
Matt Kassel (and Union goalkeeper Zac MacMath) and Ethan White played together at the University of Maryland from 2009-10. The Terrapins boasted a 34-9-3 record in that time. Kassel helped goalkeeper MacMath and defender Ethan White keep a school-record 15 clean sheets while making a run to the Elite 8 in the NCAA tournament.


& Zac MacMath

Zac MacMath (and teammate Matt Kassel) and Ethan White were teammates at the University of Maryland in 2009 and 2010. The Terrapins boasted a 34-9-3 record in that time. In 2010, the Terps made a run to the Elite 8 and boasted a school-record 15 shutouts.


& Amobi Okugo
Amobi Okugo’s University of California – Los Angeles (UCLA) Bruins and Ethan White’s Maryland Terrapins squared off on 9/4/09, seeing Maryland suffer a rare 2-0 defeat to the California school, with both players starting the match.
