Friday, D.C. United's team store made the largest single-sale in its history when a customer spent more than $4,200 on Black-and-Red gear. The person who purchased the 57 jerseys and a variety of other items lives in McLean, Va., but will be shipping the entire allotment to a youth center in Mexico City, Mexico.
D.C. United Merchandising Director Nathan Fry took to Twitter to express his awe:
Amazingly enough, this same customer had broken the previous record on February 8 when over $1,900 worth of merchandise was purchased.
