D.C. United and its charitable arm, United for D.C., announced today details for the Seventh Annual United for D.C. Day, celebrated during the United vs. New England Revolution home game Saturday, May 26. United for D.C. Day will feature opportunities throughout the day to recognize and support the club’s charity and its signature programs: Kicks for Kids, United Reads and United Soccer Club. Kick-off for the match is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.

PRE-MATCH EVENTS:

D.C. United’s U-23 team will face Barra Brava FC at the RFK training field, next to Parking Lot 7. The match will begin at 2:00 p.m. and the contest will include a halftime raffle. There will be a $10 entry donation, with all proceeds benefiting United for D.C.

AUCTIONS AND RAFFLES

The D.C. United Sidekicks – comprised of D.C. United player’s wives, girlfriends, and family members – will set up a booth outside of Gate A and inside the Main Gate to sell tickets for a raffle featuring baskets consisting of the players’ ‘favorite things’. These packages include items featuring D.C. United players’ favorite restaurants, movies, snacks, and more.

D.C. United supporters groups Screaming Eagles, La Barra Brava, La Norte and District Ultras will assist United for D.C.’s fundraising efforts by raffling unique D.C. United goods such as pint glasses and autographed items in their respective tailgates.

An additional raffle will be carried out at RFK Stadium’s VW Garage. The raffle will feature a 2012 autographed ball and a jersey signed by the D.C. United first team.

DUNK TANK

Fans will have the chance to dunk several D.C. United personalities in the United for D.C. Dunk Tank. Sitting in the tank will be United President and CEO Kevin Payne, United legend Jaime Moreno, General Manager Dave Kasper and Capital Soccer Show and DC101 host Greg Roche. A representative from each of D.C. United’s supporters group will take turns in the tank as well.

D.C. United players will also support the event by pledging money for their on-field accomplishments during the game and the team result. Dwayne De Rosario and Robbie Russell will spearhead the effort with contributions per goal made during the match.

Additionally, United for D.C. volunteers will work in the Dippin' Dots concession stands on the concourse in addition to general concessions in the VW Garage. A percentage of all proceeds will benefit United for D.C.
