D.C. United has concluded preparations for the first scrimmage in Arizona and the team is set to face Sporting Kansas City tomorrow, February 11 at 12:00 p.m. MST (2:00 p.m. ET). The venue for the match will be Grande Sports World in Casa Grande, Ariz. The game is open to the public, with live updates to be shared via twitter (@DCUmatchday).
TRIALIST UPDATE
United welcomed Alfredo Francisco Martins to preseason this morning. The 19-year-old Brazilian is a 5'9'' forward from Sao Paulo FC.
Meanwhile, United's new designated player Hamdi Salihi is still awaiting his P-1 visa.
INJURY UPDATE
Defender Emiliano Dudar (ankle sprain) and forward Maicon Santos (groin strain) are fully recovered from their respective injuries and are likely to see some minutes in tomorrow's match.
Dwayne De Rosario picked up a slight groin strain, while Brandon McDonald has a quad strain. Midfielder Branko Boskovic picked up a calf contusion.
Defender Ethan White (PCL tear) continues to work closely with United's medical staff, while midfielder Chris Pontius (tibia fracture) is gradually increasing his time in full training.
Forward Josh Wolff (stress fracture) has begun to run and perform technical exercises.
CYCLE FOR SURVIVAL
Former United players John Harkes and Jaime Moreno will participate in the Cycle for Survival event, organized by the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. The event will take place at Equinox Bethesda (4905 Elm St - Bethesda, MD 20814) on Sunday, February 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
