D.C. United Academy Players called into US National Team Camps

D.C. United today announced today that four Academy players have been called into U.S. Men’s National Team camps. Among the players called-up were Jalen Robinson and Marcus Salandy-Defour who will travel to Northern Ireland to participate in the U-18 U.S. camp from July 20-30.


The U-18 squad will first meet in Newark, New Jersey on July 20 before departing for Northern Ireland. Training is set to begin the following morning in Belfast, Ireland and the camp will run through July 30. The camp is being run in conjunction with the 2011 Milk Cup, one of more popular international youth tournaments.


As returning champions, the U.S. U-18 Men’s National Team will begin the 2011 Milk Cup by facing Israel on July 25 and Mexico on July 27 in placement games, with tournament play to follow.


Also called into U.S. National Team camps were Brandon Williamson and Michael Seaton. Williamson will participate in the U-14 U.S. National Team camp from July 31-August 6 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Seaton has been called into the U.S. U-15 National Team camp, which will also take place at the Home Depot Center.


Finally, two Academy players were honored this week as the U.S. Soccer Development Academy announced its year-end awards. Both Jalen Robinson and Collin Martin were named to the U15/16 USSDA Starting XI and USSDA Mid-Atlantic Starting XI.
