Washington, D.C. (September 20, 2010) -- D.C. United announced today event details for 'Copa D.C. X,' the yearly 6v6 indoor tournament hosted by the club and presented by Volkswagen. The opening rounds of the tournament will kickoff on Saturday, November 6 at the Rockville SportsPlex, with the quarterfinals, semis and final taking place on Sunday, November 7.
Teams are guaranteed three 40-minute games, 12 uniforms courtesy of Adidas, 12 gift bags and 12 tickets to D.C. United’s October 23 game against Toronto FC — all for a $399 entry fee. Teams are limited to a maximum of 12 players per team and the registration deadline will be Friday, October 22.
The champion of 'Copa D.C. X' will receive a check for $3,000, a trophy and 12 first place medals. The runner-up will receive a check for $1,500 and second-place medals, the third-place team a $1,000 check and third-place medals, while the fourth-place team will receive fourth-place medals.
