Clyde Simms nearing a career milestone

Clyde Simms

After starting on Sunday against Philadelphia, it seems safe to assume that Clyde Simms is likely to be in the starting line-up this weekend against Chivas USA. Clyde has been on the field more than any other player since 2005 when he joined United. The next time Clyde sets foot on the field for United, he will take part in his 150th game as a member of D.C. United. The 150-game milestone is a remarkable one which very few D.C. United players have reached. Only five other players have played 150 matches or more with D.C. United, and with his next appearance, #19 will become #6. Here is a list of franchise's other iron men:

  • Jaime Moreno - 325 matches
  • Ben Olsen - 221 matches
  • Bryan Namoff - 195 matches
  • Marco Etcheverry- 191 matches
  • Richie Williams - 169 matches
  • Clyde Simms - 149 matches
  • Eddie Pope - 143 matches
  • Jeff Agoos - 135 matches
  • Santino Quaranta - 129 matches
