D.C. United provides transportation updates for Chicago game

D.C. United shared today updated transportation details ahead of Saturday night’s home match against the Chicago Fire. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

While work on phase I of the city’s plans to repave Lot 8 is complete, phase II has yet to begin and parking access remains limited in Lot 8. Disabled patrons, Lot 8 season parking pass holders and those parking in restricted Volkswagen areas will have first access to those spots available for use. The Lot 8 access road from I-395 North will be open to traffic, though patrons will be directed through Lot 8 to Lot 7 once available spots in Lot 8 are filled. Stadium officials have implemented improved ingress and egress traffic routes in order to improve traffic flow for the event.

Lot 3 continues to be a more accessible option for fans arriving through the city and via the East Capitol Street bridge and will be accepting all Lot 8 parking passes presented. Lots 4 and 5 will operate as normal for VIP and season parking pass holders.

In addition, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority has stated that customers should expect delays this weekend as old track components are replaced on the Red, Blue, Orange and Green lines. With a heavy traffic expected Saturday night as fans travel to the United match and home games for both the Washington Nationals and Washington Capitals, customers are urged to plan travel well in advance.
