Chris Sharpe called-up

D.C. United will call up MLS pool goalkeeper Chris Sharpe for this weekend's game against Chivas USA. With Josh Wicks out for at least a month with a dislocated shoulder and MCL sprain and 18-year old Bill Hamid not eligible for League games, the team is in need of a backup for rookie Milos Kocic.

Sharpe resides in Denver and trains daily with the Colorado Rapids. He is 28-years old and is originally from Sydney, Australia. The 6-2, 185 pound netminder played for three years with Viborg FF in the Danish Superliga, before making the move to the states in 2006. He has been the goalkeeper coach for the Colorado Force, of the W-League, for four seasons.
