I just received word from General Manager Dave Kasper that the team has acquired LA Galaxy goalkeeper Josh Wicks.  In exchange, we're providing LA with a conditional 2010 SuperDraft pick.

"Josh has a lot of qualities that we are excited about," said Kasper.  "He is extremely athletic, a good organizer and has a big presence in goal.  We look forward to what he can bring to our club in the future."

Last year was Wicks first season with the Galaxy.  He saw time in six games (five starts), putting together a record of 1-2-3 and a goals-against average of 2.18.  Previously, he played three seasons in the United Soccer League - spending 2007 with the Portland Timbers and 2005 and 2006 with the Vancouver Whitecaps.  He won the 2006 USL championship with Vancouver and was named the 2007 Goalkeeper of the Year while in Portland.

From 2001-04, the 25-year old played at Cal State Bakersfield.
