After a week off from play, CONCACAF Champions League returns with the fifth match date of the region’s most important tournament. D.C. United will face off with Mexico’s Cruz Azul in a Group A matchup tonight. With a host of injuries and the final game of the MLS regular season looming on Sunday, United will have only 15 players to choose from for tonight’s match against Cruz Azul. The Mexican side will be looking to break out of the three-way tie for first place in Group A and qualify for the next round of play.
Tonight will also see Group C in action, as Joe Public hosts Atlante at 8 p.m. on Telefutura and CD Olimpia travels to Montral to face the Impact on Fox Soccer Channel.
As the only undefeated team in the tournament, USL’s Montreal Impact could secure a quarterfinal spot with a win, while a loss for Trinidad’s Joe Public could mean elimination.
