We're set to announce later today that the club has acquired Ivan Guerrero from the San Jose Earthquakes for a partial allocation.  Guerrero is expected to be in D.C. shortly and may very well be available for Saturday's game against the Wizards.

Able to play in either the defense or midfield, Guerrero has seen time in 14 games (13 starts) this year after being picked up by San Jose in the 2007 Expansion Draft.  He previously played three seasons for the Chicago Fire from 2005-06, making 74 appearances (71 starts) and notching three goals and 16 assists.  While in Chicago, he also played in five MLS Cup playoff games (five starts) collecting two goals and an assist.

A native Honduran, the 30-year old has also previously played for Peñarol (Uruguay), CD Motagua (Honduras) and Coventry City (England).  Additionally, he has been a constant fixture on the Honduran national team, notching three goals in 79 appearances at the senior level.

Guerrero holds a green card and thus will not count towards United's international roster limit.
