Here is the official press release on tonight's game:

Tonight’s D.C. United vs. Houston game postponed

WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 4, 2008) – D.C. United’s game vs. Houston Dynamo was officially postponed tonight, Wednesday, June 4 due to severe weather conditions. The game will be rescheduled at a later date. Tickets for the June 4th game will be honored on the date of the rescheduled game. More information will be available later on www.dcunited.com.

So, check back tomorrow for more news. Or else. The team trains tomorrow and Friday in advance of heading to Chicago Friday afternoon.

I've added a couple photos from the game tonight to the Video & Pics page, just in case you needed proof as to how bad the field conditions were.

And finally, just a few quotes from the guys following the cancelation.

D.C. United Head Coach Tom Soehn
On the game being postponed:
I think we’re all disappointed because we all want to play but in the end we built this team as a team that loves possession and you roll the dice in a day like today. Both teams need points and we want it to be determined by a soccer game and not by who makes the first mistake and there are a lot of mistakes when the field is saturated by so much rain.
On playing Chicago next:
For me Chicago has been one of the best teams in the league so far from what I’ve seen so we’re going to turn our focus to them. But I know our guys were ready tonight and it’s unfortunate we couldn’t play.
D.C. United Forward Jaime Moreno
On the game being postponed:
I think it is better that it got canceled because it wouldn’t be nice.  You can’t play soccer like that. The ball doesn’t roll.
It would be a game in which somebody could make a mistake so it wouldn’t be pretty.
D.C. United Midfielder Santino Quaranta
On playing in the rain:
I don’t like playing in that kind of stuff. It’s frustrating for you, but especially for Houston coming all the way for a game that’s cancelled. We want to play obviously especially being in a kind of groove now.
On playing Chicago next:
It’s going to be exciting, we’re looking forward to it. They’re looking good were excited we want to get back out there. We only played 14, 15 minutes tonight.
