PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2018 (D.C. United): In his fifth year with the club, the Homegrown defender appeared in five matches (five starts) for the Black-and-Red and played 348 regular season minutes. Robinson played his only 90-minute shift in an important 1-1 road draw against New York City FC on September 8. The Maryland native also made two appearances for United in the U.S Open Cup, playing against North Carolina FC and Orlando City SC.

2017: Robinson continued to show significant signs of development in his fourth MLS season. United’s seventh Homegrown signing set career-highs in starts (six), minutes (543) and shots (5). Robinson made his first start of the season on June 3 against Los Angeles, registering his first shutout of the year. His ability to read play and make instinctive challenges on the ball helped the former Wake Forest Deacon earn four shutouts in his seven appearances in 2017. The defender started five of United’s final nine matches.  In the offseason, Robinson trained with English Premier League club Swansea City A.F.C. in Wales.

2016: In his third season with the Black-and-Red, Robinson made his MLS debut as a substitute in the 0-0 draw with Houston on June 18. The following week, the Homegrown defender recorded his first MLS start in the 2-0 shutout win over the New England Revolution and was named to the MLS Team of the Week for his performance. The 22-year-old went on to play 90 minutes against New York City FC (Sept 1.) and Orlando City SC (Oct. 23). Robinson also made eight appearances on loan with the Richmond Kickers, scoring two goals and recording two assists. He was also named to the MLS Chipotle Homegrown Game for the second consecutive season.

2015: Robinson made 16 appearances (all starts) on loan with USL Richmond Kickers, scoring one goal and notching one assist. The Maryland native started twice in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and started all four games in the 2015-16 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League.

2014: D.C. United’s seventh Homegrown player to sign with the First Team, Robinson did not appear in a regular season match. Made 19 appearances (10 starts) on loan with USL PRO side Arizona United SC.
