Visiting Supporters Guide

D.C. United and RFK Stadium welcome visiting supporters to D.C.! We are committed to creating the best experience in MLS for all visiting fans.  Visiting supporters are encouraged to proudly support their team while they’re on the road here in Washington D.C. Please refer to the following information, rules, and regulations to plan your visit to RFK Stadium. Visiting Supporter Group Tickets

Visiting supporter groups will be ticketed and seated in section 318. Section 317 will be used if additional seating is required. Changes to these locations are at the discretion of the D.C. United front office.

Visiting supporter groups are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time through the D.C. United front office by calling 202-587-5000. Any visiting supporter who purchases tickets online in other sections may not be able to relocate to section 318. However, should a visiting supporter wish to relocate, please see the nearest usher or visit the Customer Service Center behind section 307.

Visiting Supporters Parking and Tailgate

Visiting supporters are encouraged to tailgate pre-match in Lot 3. Located at the corner of East Capitol St and 22nd St., Lot 3 is D.C. United’s designated tailgate area for visiting supporters. Lot 3 is also located directly across the street from RFK Stadium’s Main Gate and Box Office. Visiting supporters can park both busses and passenger vehicles in this designated lot. If traveling by charter bus, it is the supporter group’s responsibility to communicate the above information to the bus company. Bus parking is $45 and cars are $20. Please see the map below.

Public Transportation Options


RFK Stadium is a short 10 minute walk from the Stadium-Armory Metro station. The Stadium-Armory Station is located on the Blue, Orange, and Silver Lines. Major transfer points from the Green, Yellow, and Red Lines include L’Enfant Plaza and Gallery Place. Follow the "to stadium" signs located inside the station to exit onto 19th Street. Follow the sidewalk around the DC Armory to East Capitol St. This will lead directly to the box office and Main Gate at RFK Stadium. When taking Metro, be sure to check their website for track construction and travel times.


RFK Stadium is accessible by the 96, 97, B2, and D6 Metrobus lines.


RFK Stadium has multiple bike racks located around the stadium at the entrances as well as in the parking lots. There is also a Capital Bike Share station at the corner of East Capitol St SE and 19th St.

D.C. United and RFK Stadium Policies

Visiting Supporters are expected to adhere to all D.C. United, MLS, and RFK Stadium policies. The following items are prohibited at RFK Stadium and all visiting supporters will be subject to search prior to entry.

§ Weapons, flares, or fireworks of any kind

§ Illegal substances, drugs, or chemicals of any kind

§ Missile/projectile like objects

§ Metal, plastic, glass, or aluminum containers of any kind

§ Backpacks and large bags exceeding 14” by 14” by 6”

§ Umbrellas (any size or type)

§ Hard-sided coolers or containers of any size

§ Professional cameras and equipment, including lenses in excess of 8 inches, tripods, monopods

§ Animals (except service animals)

§ Frisbees or inflated balls of any kind

§ Whistles, vuvuzellas, or air horns of any kind

§ Laser pointers

§ Remote controlled aircraft OR unmanned aircraft systems (drones)

Certain items (drums, banners, flags) MAY be allowed if prior approval is granted by D.C. United management. All allowed items must be pre-approved, grouped together, and inspected prior to entry.

Fan Code of Conduct

The Fan Code of Conduct outlines the expectations that Major League Soccer and D.C. United have of all individuals entering the venue.  Please click here to read the Fan Code of Conduct in its entirety.  Failure to abide by the Fan Code of Conduct could result in sanctions, including ejection, banishment and arrest.


D.C. United and MLS work closely with the Marriot hotels located in the area. The official hotel of D.C. United is the Renaissance at Dupont Circle. They are located at 1143 New Hampshire Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. 20037.

Concessions Offerings

Centerplate is the concessionaire for all events at RFK Stadium. D.C. United and Centerplate work closely to provide unique concessions offerings for all guests. Among the stadium standards of hot dogs, chicken tenders, and french fries, Centerplate also offers traditional Salvadorian and Caribbean style dishes including pupusas, carne asada, quesadillas, burritos, jerk chicken or ribs, and churros.

Things to do in Washington D.C.

There is never a shortage of things to do in Washington D.C. From the National Mall to the Smithsonian Museums and Zoo to annual festivals, there is always something going on in The District. If you’re in town during March and April, be sure to check out the Cherry Blossoms!

There are many options for touring DC whether by foot, bus, segway, or Potomac River Cruise, you have the opportunity to see the monuments and sites of The District in different lights and settings.

Other things to do and see in the DC Metro area include visits to Arlington Cemetery, Old Town Alexandria, Downtown Annapolis, the Civil War Trail, countless wineries and breweries, and the Baltimore Harbor.
