Pete Shuttleworth joins Head Coach Wayne Rooney’s technical staff from Derby County Football Club, where he served as a vital component of Rooney’s coaching staff in the English Championship last season.
Shuttleworth started his career in 2006 after holding his first managerial job at Shirebrook Town FC, a semi-professional club in the Northern Counties East League Division One, at 27-years-old. Following his stint as manager, he joined Sheffield FC, the oldest soccer club in the world, as an assistant coach then held a similar role with Worksop Town FC as he worked his way up the English soccer pyramid. Following his time in the lower leagues, Shuttleworth joined Birmingham City FC in 2015 under Gary Rowett. After working two years as a scout, he became the Head of Tactical Analysis at Birmingham City FC in 2017 where he led pre-match preparations for the club through video analysis and game reports. Following five years with Birmingham City, the highly-rated Shuttleworth joined Rooney as a first team assistant coach and analyst at Derby County in 2020.
Shuttleworth is a product of the Nottingham Forest (1988-1995) and Coventry City (1995-1996) Academies. He also represented Great Britain at the Triathlon from 2012 to 2016.
