Performance Coach

Mark Plaisance assumes the position of D.C. United Academy’s Performance Coach from Loyola University in Baltimore, MD, where he worked with the Men’s and Women’s Soccer teams as a Performance Coach and Sports Scientist. In his time at Loyola, he helped the Men’s Soccer team win their first ever Patriot League Championship and helped the Women’s Soccer team reach their highest league finish to date. Prior to Loyola, he was a volunteer at the University of Maryland, where he assisted with all Olympic sports. During that time, he also worked as a private performance coach with athletes from various sports. His previous experience includes his tenure as the Head Coach for multiple age groups with Bethesda Soccer Club. While at Bethesda, he was also the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Mark played soccer at American University and graduated in 2015 with a degree in Psychology. He earned his Master’s degree in Exercise Science from

California University of Pennsylvania in 2019. He is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
