Swapneel Chatterjee joined D.C. United in 2019 and is the manager of the Academy’s various marketing endeavors with a focus on digital media. In this role, he manages marketing communications for the Academy, creates content for game-day coverage, events, and tournaments, and strategically deploys content for digital media use. He also collaborates with the First Team, Loudoun United FC, the MLSNext League, and other affiliate partner clubs to highlight and promote player achievements, accolades, college commitments, and pro debuts across social media channels.

In the past, Swapneel was a Digital Communications Associate at the Georgetown University Medical Center, where he managed the Biomedical Graduate Education Center’s digital media presence and marketing initiatives. Before that, he worked with Viacom 18 in Mumbai, India, where he spearheaded digital marketing efforts and marketing programs for Nickelodeon, Vh1 and Comedy Central, oversaw the launch of the Voot app, and was part of the strategic communications team.

Swapneel has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a Graduate Diploma in Marketing from Mumbai University, and a Master’s degree in Sports Industries Management from Georgetown University. He is certified in Google Analytics and Adwords, and is fluent in four languages (English, Hindi, Marathi and Bengali).
