Nolan Sheldon
Nolan Sheldon joined D.C. United in 2010 and serves as the Director of D.C. United Camps and as an Academy Coach. He oversees the club’s summer and winter camp programs and the Training Program geared toward U-11 and U-13 players. Additionally, he works in D.C. United's Academy, serving as an assistant coach for the U-16 Academy team.
Prior to joining United, Sheldon spent three years as a staff coach at IMG Soccer Academy in Bradenton, FL. He began his time at IMG as a player in 2001 and played under Soccer Academy Director Tom Durkin for two years before attending Duquesne University. After completing his freshman season at Duquesne, he transferred to Wingate University in Wingate, NC. A full-time starter in Wingate's back line, he completed his collegiate career after the 2006 season.
Sheldon began his coaching career with IMG Soccer Academy while still a player, working as a camp coach during the summer. He taught the IMG summer curriculum every year beginning in 2003 and was hired as a full-time staff coach following his graduation from Wingate University in December 2007.
A native of Moatsville, West Va., Sheldon earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with a minor in Spanish, from Wingate University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Soon after graduation, he married Alexis Randazzo in Moatsville, WV.
