In preparation for the 2010 Major League Soccer
season, adidas has unveiled TECHFIT uniforms for three of the sixteen teams. For the first time ever, members of
D.C. United, Chicago Fire and LA Galaxy will have the option of wearing adidas
TECHFIT PowerWeb uniforms on the pitch this season.
Until recently, TECHFIT PowerWeb has been more
commonly worn under a player’s uniform as compression apparel; but the new
adidas MLS uniforms offer TECHFIT built into the actual jersey giving players
the benefits of TECHFIT in a single layer.

Washington, D.C. (March 17, 2010) - D.C. United announced today the club has signed defender Lyle Adams to a developmental contract. The centerback joined United on trial at the beginning of the current preseason campaign, after being originally drafted by the club in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft.
“We’re excited to sign Lyle after identifying him at last year’s draft as a player that could help us,” said United General Manager Dave Kasper. “He is a young player with good potential, who will add quality depth to our backline. We look forward to his contributions to the club.”
Field players can rise from the bench to earn
confidence-building match cameos. But a netminder’s complex responsibilities --
leadership, organization, focus -- typically take years to master and in a
position where security and continuity are vital to results, opportunities for
substitute appearances come few and far between.

"Not yet," he chuckled when asked about such hijinks late last week. "I'm keeping my head down and keeping a low profile, waiting for something."
