D.C. United won the Carolina Challenge Cup for the second year in a row with a 2-2 draw against Toronto FC at Blackbaud Stadium on Saturday evening in Charleston, S.C. With the victory, United finishes preseason play undefeated with a 7-0-2 record, and now the club will turn its full attention to March 19 and the Columbus Crew. Head Coach Ben Olsen was pleased with his players' collective effort throughout preseason camp, but in the locker room following tonight's match he stressed the need to refocus for the start of the regular season.

Five MLS Academies head into action during this weekend’s USSF Development Academy slate.
Columbus, D.C. United and New York will all see action in the Development Academy league for the first time in 2011 after a long winter break.
The Crew Academy make a road trip to Michigan for a Saturday doubleheader against Derby County Wolves and two Sunday games against Vardar at both U-16 and U-18 age levels.

United today announced the club has partnered with four popular local food trucks to provide additional food options at the club's 2011 home opener on Saturday, March 19 vs. the Columbus Crew. Each of the four trucks will be parked in Lot 8 at RFK Stadium and be open for business beginning at 5pm ET.
D.C. United’s lone Supplemental Draft pick, Blake
Brettschneider, signed his first professional contract just last week, inking a developmental
deal with the club.
Since then, he earned the start at forward for DC
in the Carolina Challenge Cup on Wednesday night alongside Charlie Davies and scored
the lone goal in United’s 1-0 win over the Chicago Fire, the club’s second
straight win in the competition.
