D.C. United, Comcast SportsNet ink multi-year deal
D.C. United and Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic today announced the extension of their longstanding partnership with a new three-year agreement, which begins with the ongoing 2013 Major League Soccer season. United and Comcast SportsNet, whose partnership began in 1996, also announced the Black-and-Red’s regional television schedule.
D.C. United loans goalkeeper Andrew Dykstra to the Richmond Kickers
D.C. United today announced that goalkeeper Andrew Dykstra will join the Richmond Kickers on loan. Dykstra will train during the week with the Black-and-Red’s First Team and join the Kickers for games. United has also loaned forward Casey Townsend, defender/midfielder Taylor Kemp, forward Michael Seaton, and midfielder Conor Shanosky to the Kickers as part of the two clubs’ landmark affiliation agreement.
Back in action
After D.C. United’s scoreless draw against New York on March 16, coach Ben Olsen stressed that his team needed to be better in possession.
Following a loss against Columbus at RFK Stadium the next weekend, Olsen said that his club needed to return to the basics.
Now, after a weekend off, United is two days away from a trip to Kansas City and eager to execute what they’ve focusing on at training.

Michael Seaton called up to Jamaica U-17 Men’s National Team ahead of CONCACAF Championship
D.C. United today announced that 16-year-old Homegrown forward Michael Seaton has been called up to the Jamaica U-17 Men’s National Team ahead of two matches in the CONCACAF Championship. The U-17 Reggae Boyz will face Panama’s U-17s on April 6 and then Barbados’ U-17s on April 8 ahead of the 2013 CONCACAF U-17 Championships – a part of FIFA U-17 World Cup qualifying –held at the Estadio Agustín Muquita Sánchez in Panama City, Panama. Seaton joined the Jamaica squad this past Friday, March 29.

Dejan Jakovic returns from international duty ready to resume MLS play
D.C. United central defender Dejan Jakovic returned from Canadian National Team duty in Doha, Qatar eager to resume MLS action after missing last Saturday’s 2-1 loss to the Columbus Crew. The 27-year-old defender earned his 14th and 15th starts against Japan and Belarus, respectively, registering 16 international caps overall. After playing all 90 minutes in both games, Jakovic arrived back in the nation's capital on Tuesday to join the Black-and-Red as it takes advantage of a bye week to prepare for Sporting Kansas City (Friday, April 5; 8:30 pm ET).
A weekend off
After a fast-paced start to the 2013 MLS regular season, D.C. United has a weekend off in their schedule. The Black-and-Red does not play another regular season match until Friday, April 5 at Sporting Kansas City (8:30 p.m. MLS Live).
For team captain Dwayne De Rosario, the off time was a great opportunity to spend time with his family: "I will be, pretty much taking [my children] around. I know John Thorrington is having some of the guys at his house, so I'll be going there as well."
