Los equipos Sub-18 y Sub-16 de D.C. United viajaron a New Jersey el
pasado fin de semana para medirse ante PDA y NYRB. 

El Sub-18 comenzó el fin de semana con un empate 2-2 ante Players
Development Academy el sábado 17 de marzo. Ahmed Ismail anotó el primer gol del
United con un cabezazo en el minuto seis, mientras que Damitola Adetola anotó
el segundo tanto en el minuto 57 con una asistencia de Collin Martin. A pesar
del empate, el Sub-18 del United desplegó una actuación sólida y pudo dominar
la mayor parte del encuentro.

traveled to New N.J. this past weekend to face PDA and NYRB in USSDA league

The U-18’s began the weekend
with a 2-2 draw against the Players Development Academy on Saturday, March 17. Ahmed
Ismail earned United’s first goal with an early header, while Damitola Adetola
buried the second goal in the 57th minute with an assist by Collin
Martin. Despite the draw, United’s U-18 side displayed a solid performance and
was able to dominate play throughout the match.

Va. Rush splits pair with Richmond Strikers; D.C. United, Bays also busy
Development Academy recap

Virginia Rush rallied from an early deficit to pick up a 2-1 win over the Richmond Strikers at Striker Park Saturday in U.S. Soccer Development Academy Under-15/16 play on Saturday.

Gil Topaz tallied his third goal of the season in the 18th minute for Strikers, but Rush equalized nine minutes later on a goal from David Kotarides off a corner. It was Kotarides’ first goal of the season.

Academy update

D.C. United’s U-18 and U-16 Academy teams participated
in the Development Academy Carolina Challenge Cup held in Charleston, South
Carolina this past weekend. The tournament ran in conjunction with the Carolina
Challenge Cup, which is currently taking place with United’s first team set to face
host Charleston Battery on Wednesday, February 29.

Academy Update

D.C. United’s U-18 and U-16 Academy teams are set to compete in the Development Academy Carolina Challenge Cup from February 24 – 27. The tournament will take place in Charleston, South Carolina in conjunction with the Carolina Challenge Cup, featuring youth teams from Columbus Crew, Indiana United Fire, Chicago Fire, New York Red Bulls and the South Carolina United Battery.

Last week, U.S. Soccer announced the Development Academy would be moving to a 10-month season starting with the 2012-13 season. D.C. United's U-16 and U-18 teams compete in U.S. Soccer's Development Academy and have since the program launched in 2007.

Freestate, Bethesda, Richmond Strikers clash over weekend
ECNL weekend recap

Freestate Soccer Alliance's U-14, U-15 and U-18 teams all posted wins against Richmond Strikers this weekend in Elite Clubs National League play.

Freestate's U-14s won 6-2, while its U-15s and U-18s each won 4-0 over the Strikers.

The Strikers' U-14 team rallied Sunday for a 2-0 win over Bethesda SC. That was Bethesda SC's only loss on the weekend, as its U-15s defeated the Strikers 3-0, the U-16s tied the Strikers 1-1 and the U-18s defeated the Strikers, 2-0.
